It was Kanye West's turn to take a shot at Adidas, this time claiming that he never gave them permission to launch Yeezy Day. Adidas, with whom Kanye West has a vendetta, has taken another pop shot at the rapper.

On Tuesday, the company held its fourth annual Yeezy Day, during which it releases new merchandise in conjunction with its licencing agreement with the 45-year-old rapper. However, the Donda star was not pleased with this year's event and once again slammed the organisation.

Adidas and Ye began working together in 2013, but in recent months, Ye has been vocal about his displeasure with the popular brand, accusing it of releasing Yeezy-branded merchandise without his consent.

On Instagram, he told Complex how Adidas first came up with the idea of Yeezy Day in 2019 without consulting him. adidas came up with the Yeezy Day idea without my approval, and then brought back old styles, without my approval," read a lengthy message in the lengthy message

They went on to name and colour products without his approval, and then hired people who had worked with him without asking permission.

Earlier this year, when Adidas released their Adilette 22 slide sandals, West accused the company of producing "a fake Yeezy." The [general manager] lied to my face when I ordered Adidas to make more Yeezy slides and said they didn't have the capacity," West writes to Complex. Adidas, on the other hand, was copying his slides and creating the Yeezy slide. In terms of Adidas online sales, Yeezy accounts for 68 per cent. Step up, God.

Earlier this year, in an Instagram post that has since been deleted, Kanye West addressed an image of the Adilette 22 slides to Adidas CEO Kasper Rrsted, showing a pair of the quickly-sold-out shoes. West wrote, "I'm not going to stand for this blatant copying any longer." This is for everyone who wants to express themselves but fears doing so for fear of losing their contract or being labelled "crazy," he explained, adding that the shoes symbolised "the disrespect that people in power have for the talent.

Yeezy Slides, which he launched in late 2019, were likened to the Adilette by West. In an earthy beige shade, both shoes have a similar lightweight slip-on design. Adilettes cost $55 (£45), while Yeezy Slides are $10 (£8) more expensive at $55 (£45).
